Finally!

I know, I know!!! I've been a bad blogger. Things have been a little crazy around our house the past couple of weeks. We were able to close on our new home Tuesday, August 12... and I started my new job on Wednesday, August 13. So things are not quite where I would like them to be at home or at school, but we're getting there. So please forgive the pictures where there are still boxes or messes, or no paint. I would love to lie and say they were taken a while back, but really I took them a few minutes ago. It just takes a while when you have two helpers and everything else on top of it. So, here are a few long ago promised pictures of our new house. We absolutely love it. Hopefully this weekend we can get a few more things done.

A quick update

Everything went so smoothly on Tuesday with closing so now we are proud home owners. Things are crazy around the house because we are trying to paint before we unpack everything. I haven't unpacked my camera yet, but I will send pictures soon. Thank you for your prayers. They have made a huge difference in calming our spirits.

Signing off...

We are moving today. Sounds exciting doesn't it?!?!?! Actually it's terrifying because that means we are temporarily homeless. We will be staying with my mom and hopefully we will close on our new house on Tuesday. So I'm off for a few days with no internet access. Love to you all and I'll talk to you soon.

5 ways to wait out a hurricane

Hurricane Edouard hit today. It has been much less scary than I thought, but keep in mind we were never in very real danger anyway. We thought we might have some high winds and possibly power outages. All we've had is lots and lots of rain. School was cancelled so we entertained ourselves. That's not very different from regular days but it always feels different when you don't have the option of getting out. 5 things we did:

1. Played with play-doh.

2. Played Hullabaloo.

3. Watched the rain.

4. Read books.

5. Built a fort.

Goin' Campin'

This is my idea of camp! Because Josh was a pastor at camp this year he had his own hotel-like room. This means he had his own bathroom, could go early for all meals, and didn't have kids keeping him up all night. The girls and I hadn't seen him in over a week - I know we're spoiled and I'm ok with that - so we went to see him. Avery had a blast. She was able to swim and do crafts and all the kids thought she and Reagan were adorable. Reagan had fun because she was with her daddy - her favorite person in the whole world. I was really hoping to hear Josh preach but unfortunately that wasn't high on the girls priority list. It was neat though walking around and having kids and adults tell him what a good job he was doing. Most importantly he's had several kids per night accept Christ - and that's really what it's all about anyway.
