A Roarin' Good Day

First I have to start with a story from yesterday. Let me start by saying that I know this isn't exactly true. I have my moments of niceness, but also my "other" moments. :/ Anyway, we were at lunch yesterday and when I was getting my plasticware one of the crew was resupplying. I told her hi and asked how her day was going. As I was walking back to the table a man stopped me and said, "You are a nice lady. Not many people take the time to do that." I told him thank you, but I realized that people are always watching. We're working really hard to be extra nice and jolly. That doesn't mean I didn't get irritated on the bus today... but I'm working on it. :)

Started off the day with the envelope... a treat at the Lion King store and money to leave on an arcade game or vending machine. There is an arcade in our hotel so I was thinking we would take it there, but then I realized that it works off of the room card so they don't take money. So we will take it tomorrow and leave it on a vending machine. But on an upside, Avery said as we left the room this morning, "We still need to pick up trash!" :)

Today was Animal Kingdom. I didn't think I would like this park much at all, but I really enjoyed it. Again, the decorations were amazing. There were all kinds of animals and cool looking things in the trees and garland.

We started with the African Safari. Again, didn't think I would really enjoy this, but it was so cool!!! Since we were there so early most of the animals were out so we were able to see rhinos, and hippos, and giraffes. My favorite was the baby elephant. He was so cute!

After that we headed over to see The Lion King. We had a few minutes to spare so were were able to squeeze in a picture with Thumper. Avery just walked right up to him. Too cute! The Lion King show was really good, but much different than I expected. The girls enjoyed it though.

This has now become my favorite!!! The Finding Nemo show was unreal!!! The colors were fantastic, the singing and puppetry were wonderful, and the costumes and props were just gorgeous. The show was 40 minutes long, and we were spellbound the entire time. I absolutely loved it!!!

After that we headed back to the hotel for lunch, naps, and a swim. Whomever told you that you can swim in Florida in December wasn't necessarily lying... but you do end up freezing!!! I'm not sure what were expecting, but it was so cold!!! I wish it was a little warmer because the pool was perfect! I don't think it gets more than 4 feet deep so Av could touch for most of it. They had a small slide that Reagan loved, but they also had a big slide that we were all able to do. Unfortunately I forgot the camera - so unlike me - so I just got 2 pics on my phone. We didn't stay long, but the girls really enjoyed it.

After our swim, we came and cleaned up and headed to Chef Mickey's with our friends the Pany's. It was AWESOME!!! They had Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. We were able to get autographs and pictures with each of them. Avery was so funny because we happened to see Ebenezer Scrooge and Daisy in our hotel lobby and she was fine with pictures with them, but she had to really warm up to the characters in the restaurant. We saw Donald right after we sat down, and she wouldn't do a picture. Fortunately we were there long enough that he came around again so we were able to get a picture with him too.

Last for the day was a trip over to the Grand Floridian. They had a life-sized gingerbread house. The detail was incredible - right down to smoke coming out of the chimney!!! The entire hotel was absolutely beautiful. Outside at the entrance they had entire beds of poinsettias with the reindeer. So pretty!!!
Another great Disney day!!! Tomorrow it's back to Magic Kingdom. Can't wait!!! :)
